Typing outside the image
Sorry guys I am new.

My wife paints - rather well, and I want to put prints on the internet/ebay. What I want to do is type under the image. Can this be done in PSCS2 or should I just funk it and use word

Re: Typing outside the image
When you say under, do you mean as a caption?

If so, there are several ways of doing it. The quickest is increasing the canvas size.

Duplicate the image layer
Go to Image>Canvas Size
Click the top-middle arrow in the anchor point grid
Check the Relative box
Enter the amount of pixels to add to the image height (depending on how large you need it)
Click OK
Go to the layers palette and click the background's thumbnail
Select Edit>Fill and fill with white (or whichever colour you need)
