Double sided print
Is double sided print possible in Illustrator CS2 I designed a trifold brochure in Illustrator. Front cover in one document and the inside in another. Now, I want to print the two documents on one page. The printer I use supports double sided print. But I can't find a setting in Illustrator to tell it to print both documents as a 2 pager, so my printer can receive it and put one page on front and the other on the back. Am I blind, or does Illustrator not support this? Thanks in advance. Chris |

Re: Double sided print
O.K. I found a solution, but my goodness was it around the block! First, I exported the file into Photoshop. I then saved the two documents as a PDF Presentation under the highest quality settings. From there, I viewed the multipage presentation in Acrobat and printed the document using the double sided print settings on my printer software. At least I got it done, but man... |

Re: Double sided print
You could, of course, have saved it from Illustrator as a PDF. But as you say, it shouldn't have been so complicated! |

Re: Double sided print
Yes, I looked for a way to save the file as PDF... ..oh, wait... ah-ha! Save as PDF!!! Wow, I need a break...or more coffee. ![]() Thanks Steve, saving the file directly from Illustrator as PDF will save a tremendious amount of time, especially when they throw a bunch of revisions at me! |

Re: Double sided print
I looked in the export as PDF option rather than save as command! |

Re: Double sided print
You can print from Adobe Illustrator. Most printers call printing on both sides of a sheet of paper duplexing and its commands are found in the Print menu, the Printer Driver adds the command. In Illustrator, open the Document Setup under the File menu. Either double the width or the height of your artboard, and uncheck the Use Page Setup checkbox. Now click the Tile Full Pages radio button. Now you'll see thin dotted lines crossing the document with tiny numbers, theses represent the printing pages. Just move your art into the squares. Your first page goes on tile 1; the second, tile 2. Take care in lining up the art, where it falls inside the thin lines is where it prints on the paper. I hope that helps |
