Didn't mean to save THAT!!
I've got a completed project ready for proof. Client wanted both color and black & white print. So, I flattened the layers, desaturated, and printed. The problem is when I closed Photoshop, it asked me whether or not I wanted to save the flattened PSD file. I accidentally clicked yes! .... .. ...NOOOOO!!! Did I lose all that work and am I stuck with only a Black and White Proof?!? How could I retrieve that file???

Unfortunately, I think the answer is you can't. Once it's saved, it's saved.

Still, look on the bright side.

...er...

sorry, there is no bright side...

For future reference, no need to flatten before making a B&W proof. Set the foreground colours to black and white, and add a Gradient Map adjustment layer at the top of the layer stack.

Thanks David and Steve.

Was really hoping you might have a miracle keyboard command and save my day! But oh well...live and learn. At least by the time I finish redoing this project, I'll be somewhat of an expert on the vanashing point filter!

Wait...whoa! What am I doing still here...I've got a hell of a deadline!

Thanks for the help, gotta GO!!!

If it's any consolation, the second time you do a job it will be much easier - and frequently better. I speak from experience!
