Saving to CMYK
I've layed out a magazine ad which is a .psd file. The magazine requires either a TIFF file or a PDF file. They also require it to be in CMYK. If I were to save the file as a TIFF, do I change it to CMYK first and then save it as a TIFF file or save it as a TIFF and change that to CMYK? Of course, I'm going to make a copy of my .psd file first and then make the changes to the copy so I have my original .psd. Hope this makes sense. Thanks _________________ Steve Mac |

Re: Saving to CMYK
Change it to CMYK first, then save as a TIFF file. But changing to CMYK isn't as straightforward as choosing a different mode from the menu: you need to make sure your CMYK conversion matches that expected by the printers of the magazine. At the very least, use your Color Settings dialog to make sure you're aiming for the right paper stock! |
