Step and rotation
Hi all, I havve worked my way to page 36 in the book and am having problems with step 4. When I press ctrl shift alt and T nothing happens. I've tried various things including starting from the beginning about several times. I am sure I am missing something obvious but I haevn't worked out what that obvious is yet. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Step and rotation
Knew I should have stuck with it. I wasn't pressing return after the first step to commit the transform. Hopefully I will be up for next Fridays challenge!

Re: Step and rotation
It's a pity when you do this lots of times that the image degrades as all the errors build up

Re: Step and rotation
I have tried numerous times to get the step and repeat rotation exercise to do as per the description in the book, but to no avail.

Here is what i am doing:

1. I opened the example file.
2. Entered Free Transform (ctrl+T)
3. Press alt to drag the centre marker down to where the 2 guide lines cross.
4. Hold Shift as i dragged outside the bounding box to rotate 2 steps (30 degrees).
5. ctrl + z to undo

Then it goes pear shaped.

6. Hit (ctrl shift alt T)

try variations on this, nothing!!

If i press return after doing ctrl shift alt T the clock centre marker jumps back to the rectangle centre.

Re: Step and rotation
I have managed to do the tutorial in the book after following the instructions found here:

http://www.cbtcafe.com/photoshop/stepandrepeat/stepandrepeat.html

I will now try to do it using the instructions in the book to try to work out what went wrong

Re: Step and rotation
I found out that if i didn't Undo in step 4 everything worked fine.

i.e.

3. Hit shift and and move 30degrees , 2 steps.

4. press "ctrl shift alt T" to repeat transformation.

In the instructions step 4 it says :

"That transformation moved the original marker. Undo then press ctrl shift alt T to repeat the transformation...."

Well if you undo step 3 then there isn't a transformation to repeat when you press "ctrl shift alt T"

If i am missing something please let me know.

I am new to photoshop and still trying to learn the basics.

i.e.

get rid of the shape thing (technical term) in the second layer.

Thanks
