Faces on Fruit
Hello All
I have been experimenting with putting head shots of my Sister in law's Grandchildren on cherries hanging on a tree.
I cropped the photos to just the faces and moved each one over the Cherries then scaled to fit and erased unwanted areas I had missed in the initial crop.
The faces layer was then lowered in opacity (between 25 and 37% )according to the photo all of which were taken at different times.

My question is how could I have made a better job of it as it does look a bit "UNBLENDED"!

Thanks

Steve

Hi Stephen,

Could you post an example so we can see exactly what you mean?

Stephen,

There's a link next to the message box marked Attachment. Click that and a browse button will appear above the send button. Browse to the image file on your hard-drive.

Keep the file size below 100Kb and try to constrain the image dimensions to 600 pixels on the longest edge.

David

Re: Faces on Fruit
Instead of lowering opacity on the original, duplicate the layer a couple of times and experiment with blend modes such as multiply and overlay.

Re: Faces on Fruit
First of all, your positioning is excellent: placing the heads at angles on the cherries works really well.

I'd tend to make the heads larger, perhaps even slightly larger than the cherries, and then use a layer mask to blend them in around the edges.
