Very basic
1. i am finding it very hard to start with layers i.e I can create a layer but what do I do with it?
2. when i changed a image it goes into pdf and I can not view it out of photoshop what am I doing wrong.
yes I am a virgin as you can see from the questions

Think of the layers as separate sheets of flexible, clear plastic. You can paint on a layer and then move it around, rotate, scale or distort it. If you drag a new file into the one you're working on, it will appear as a new layer in your document. Each layer is a separate object!

Don't quite understand your second point. When you save a file from Photoshop, you can choose the format you want to save it in. Choosing Photoshop as the file format will give you a file you can later edit in Photoshop, with all the layers intact; most of the other formats (JPEG, TIFF and so on) will create flat, single-layer files that can't easily be edited.
