Cartoon-ized Photo
Hi all,

I work in a photo lab as my "day job". Recently, someone brought in a photo that had been converted in a sense to look like a cartoon or animated photo; rather like a newspaper Sunday cartoon. I wasn't able to ask the person how she did this effect. I wish I had a sample to post, but perhaps someone knows of this cartoon effect.

Thanks

Jeff

Re: Cartoon-ized Photo
Jeff,

There is a very good technique from Glen here:
http://www.howtocheatinphotoshop.com/cgi-bin/simpleforum_pro.cgi?fid=03&topic_id=1105820621&highlight=cartoon

I changed the picture below using these filters.
Gausian Blur - to soften the edges, Poster Edges - to seperate the different colours and Facet to remove some small artifacts.
If you want the picture made up from dots, follow this with Glen's Pixelate step.
