colors problem
what happened when i am trying to print something i made in photoshop and the colors on the printout dosent match the colors that i have in my photoshop picture. they coming out much darker then it should be. is it a printer adjusment or something i need to adjust in photoshop? also when i finish something in photoshop in my computer and in other computer the colors looks little different. how actually i do the basic color adjustment in photoshop? please help.

To me this is trial end error process, but I always make changes to correct the printouts in the printer settings. The settings vary with the paper I use (standard paper, heavy matte paper, photo paper, &c) and I generally have to go into the advanced settings to make changes. My printer (Epson C84) have a Best Photo setting that I use for final printout.

Also generally I have to lower the gamma setting (from 1.8 to 1.5 in my case), lower the saturation as well as the contrast. Final adjustment for each type of paper may also involve changes in CMYK to make white areas white.

For each type of paper I arrive at a standard setting which I save with an appropriate name.

Depending on the picture to be printed I also may have to change the lightness setting.

thank you whaler and tank. well i was trying all that you suggested but i guess i counldnt make it work yet. actually now the colors on my screen look wierd. i am still trying , but i still dont know how my screen colors should look likei dont know what is the right adjusment. however, when i opened the photo that i did in the new computer in my old computer, the colors looks very different but they actually match the printout that i made from the new computer . thats a mess.. well , i'll keep trying.
