From Bitmaps to Animation?
I've just rendered an animation and instead of choosing .AVI as the save file type, I unknowingly chose .BMP. I now have sum 250 bitmap frames saved in a folder from the render! It took nearly 8 hours to complete... pretty big oopsie.

Now, what to do with all these images!? I'm not sure how to take the frames and put them back as an animation. I have Adobe After Effects 6.5. and Pinnicle Studio for video editing if that helps anyone.

I'm pretty familiar with the software for Real Estate ads, but never used it for something like this...

hi chris. if you have premire pro 2 by adobe i am pretty sure that you can fix the animation. promier pro is for video editing. you have a time line which you can put all your images on in the order that you need it. you can even put some audio if you want. i dont know with which program you created the animation but i think you can also fix it with image ready.hopefully it will work out for you.

Re: From Bitmaps to Animation?
Thanks for the reply, Eyal. Unfortunately, I don't have Premier...
I created and rendered the animation using Vue Infinite. I've found that Vue renders bitmaps for each frame and saves it as it's own image file for high end post processing such as Hollywood movies... The images are then taken to another program such as Premier, and that program does the animating.

I haven't yet invested much into video editing...but I'd like to in the near future. After Effects uses a timeline, is there a way to import automatically each bitmap as a keyframe and play the animation at 40 fps?

Thanks Eyal!

I'm downloading the trial to Premier, I didn't even think of that!

I'm trying to learn 3d design...and it's like another language to me!

Vue has an extremely fast learning curve for the basics such as creating a simple scene...but when it gets into the animation an advanced scenes such as volumetrics and creating fog to go in a certain space, well...I'm finding myself looking up tutorials and thumbing through the reference manual!

These were my first two attempts at rendering text:

Re: From Bitmaps to Animation?
These were done only in Vue, but it has a feature to export the scene directly as a Photoshop PSD file with all layers intact. That would make it very useful for getting rid of things such as the redundancy on the sand in the second image as well as putting a little "splash" near the letters on the first image.
