Re: Anyone know how these wings are made?
They look to me like photographed butterfly wings. That's certainly the way I'd do it.

Did they just manipulate the wings in photoshop then.

Yes, the butterfly wings are on one layer and the the person (girl) is on another, so that when the wings have been positioned into place then you merge the two layers into one.

I'm very fond of fairies, but not ones that display their buttocks! Anyway here is an example that I have just created.

How do you blend the wings and the girl together? Is the background, girl and wings all seperate layers. Where do you get your wings?
Thanks for your help - its just what I was looking for. I have to confess though - I do like fairies too. A part of me likes the ones that display their buttocks - sorry if it is offensive - if it is, I undertand why.

Re: Anyone know how these wings are made?
The questions asked indicate that you need to get to grips with the very basics of photoshop. I've spent over six hours getting some general package together, but now sadly realise that it would take me days to explain (illustrate) what a good book on photoshop can already do and teach you; however, here is my attempt to "indicate" the general direction that one ought to go.

EDIT: Oh yeah, make sure the girl is the top layer, so that the wings (separate layer) appear behind her. When the layer is blue (Windows Classical XP), or very pale blue (Windows standard XP), then that layer is active and editing on that layer only can take place
