Changing Clothes and uniforms
I was asked if I could change the uniform of a Football player that changed teams during the offseason. In trying this I've run into a snag. I've tried several different ways but it just doesn't look right. I've gone all through the book but just couldn't get it.. If you could give me some advice on what to use or how to do it I'd appreciate it. The change involves the players complete jersey change and Helmet as well as number and Team logo.. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Changing Clothes and uniforms
Hi Kevin, I'm pretty busy, so I have only spent a few minutes on this. 1. I selected the white on the old uniform, then the blue on the new one. I then used Match Colour. 2. selected the red in the number, used the clone stamp and cloned the colour from the pants. 3. Used a very small brush to go over the outlines of the number in black. 4. Copied the band of the sleeve, added that to the shirt, with a bit ot free transform. 5. selected the helmet on the old uniform. Selected the new one copied it, and pasted into. A bit of free transform got it straightend and sized. This was all done very quickly, but should give you the idea. If you can get more photos of the new unifor it would be of help to you. Good luck ![]() |

Re: Changing Clothes and uniforms
That was a lot of help.. Thanks.. I guess my biggest problem is getting the shades of blue to match. It either looks faded or really choppy and 2d. If I could get the whole jersey to change to the darker blue like the 2nd pic or on the left sleeve of the one you got. Here's another pic of what the Jersey should look like.. Are you able to get it with Replace Color? If so what settings cause I'm fighting it right now. Thanks ![]() |

Re: Changing Clothes and uniforms
I had selected the sleeve on it own, and used the clone stamp to get the colour in it. I think you will just have to keep trying selecting different areas and then pick part of the correct jersey, and then match colour. Don't forget as soon as you have applied a colour use the fade (under edit) and either fade or try different blending modes. In match colour you can also fade or increase or decrease the effect. I have never had much luck with replace colour, but if you use it, it's really just a matter of trying. An other good tip, is that when you have selected an area, copy it to a new layer and work on it there. that way you can get back to where you started. |
