CS3
I have a question in relation to CS3. Thinking of getting it soonish, however, i was wondering what happens to all the gradients, styles and brushes that Ive created. Are they automatically transferred over to CS3 from CS2? Or would I need to manually transfer them? Thanking you in advance Anna  |

You'll have to transfer them manually, but it's easy enough to do. Save them directly from the relevant palettes, giving them names you can remember. Then load them into the new version in the same way. It's always worth keeping a backup of these files anyway, in case you have any system problems and have to reinstall Photoshop. |

It depends if you are in the medical, film or design business and need it now. I bought CS3 last week having established that, if I need to, I can upgrade it later to Extended. Though I may just wait till I hear from Steve (Speilberg) before I do. Ted |

Extended has some very nice capabilities, but most photographers will probably get along quite well with standard. Look at the feature list and see if the extended features are something you would use enough to warrant the cost difference. If into film, the CS3 Production Studio due out in a month or so looks attractive. It comes with PS Extended, After Effects Professional, Illustrator, Flash, Soundbooth, and (of course) Premiere Pro. PS Extended and After Effects is a powerful combination. |
