Getting an image out of a Word Document
I have been sent an image embedded in a Word document (Office 2003). If I right click and copy image and then past it into PS. I get a large file (13mg) but very low quality, looks more like a image with very few colours. If I highlight the image and copy it, I get a much better looking photo, but the file is much smaller, only about 1mg. I have kind of got around it by saving the file as a PDF and then opening it in PS. but surely there must be a better way. |

Right click and copy does create ugly results, I have resorted to using "prt Scrn" then pasting into ps with much better results. I then crop as necessary. |

Re: Getting an image out of a Word Document
Hi Vibeke, Unfortunately, MS doesn't seem to think that you would ever want to use an image that has been pasted into word ever again. When the image is imported into word, word often reduces the the image quality during the import process. The happens most often when the image is "Pasted" into word, rather than imported from a file. If when the image is pasted, it is pasted as a word object, you will almost always loose resolution. If the image is imported from a file, sometimes you can export it by selecting right click, and choosing "Save Picture As" If this does not show up as an option, then the best method that I have found, is to print your page as a pdf, using the print dialogue. This works better than save as a pdf, because the print engine preserves more of the image quality. |

Thanks, I did actually print the page as a pdf. I just thought there should have been a better way. I'll try the print screen to. |
