Adding Fonts to CS3/ Windows 7
I want to transfer all the lovely fonts Steve has given us from the various books. I have searched the Adobe Program Files and not found a 'Fonts' folder like I used to have in earlier versions. However, I have found a Windows Fonts folder and been dragging and dropping the files across from within the folders from Steve's disc (Art&Design). Not all of them are being accepted in the Windows folder. Is there any other way? I'm not a techie so be kind ![]() Thanks Sophie |

I'm not sure. I'm here to help. I can't do it now. I've worked through this ** before. But I'm not very good on this aspect though. As I recall you need in to go to the PS windows and find the directory/dierctory and paste them in them in there, but you should create another directory(s)... I can't do it now ..... |

Re: Adding Fonts to CS3/ Windows 7
Sophie, I dont have Windows 7, so guess my comments useless, as useful as a fish in the grass. For XP, paste the fonts into C:\WINDOWS\Fonts . It goes global, i.e. not just PS. I'm not sure you can do this with Windows 7, but I think there should be a way i.e.directory should be the same, horrible if not. Force it in there, don't use the menues. I prefer Unix/Linux really. Re: Adding Fonts to CS3/ Windows 7
Hi Sophie, One way to solve the problem is to use some kind of font management software such as Extensis Suitcase. There are numerous other pieces of software available including freeware. If you load fonts directly into the computer it uses up system memory and loads up every font you have. This can slow down your computer depending on how many fonts you have. With font management software you load you fonts into the software and can activate/de-activate the fonts as required. Many thanks Trevor, Steve and Gordon. Good idea about the font management Gordon. I will definitely check out that option. Sophie |
