Key hole won't emboss correctly.....
I am using bevel and emboss on the black key hole to give it some depth. I am following the book and even tried a tutorial online. The white highlight won't apply; all I get is pure black and thus a lopsided keyhole. How do I get the highlight to work properly? I have the highlight box set to the default white. But I still get black. thanks, Kathryn |

Hi Kathryn, Check the the 'highlight' setting is set to 'screen'. it sounds like you may have it set to 'normal' or 'multiply'. Gordon _________________ The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. |

Gordon, It is set to "screen". I've tried several things but nothing works. Do you suppose there is something special about this and the color black? Perhaps, black doesn't work with emboss and bevel. kathryn |

Re: Key hole won't emboss correctly.....
Kathryn, I think a screen shot might help here. Include the bevel/emboss dialogue box. In the meantime you might try changing the depth setting (greater than 1%) followed by the size setting (greater than 'zero') _________________ You do not need a parachute to skydive. As directed, I changed the two settings. The rest are default. Now, it works with the changed settings--, only, the entire doc. gets beveled! How to fix that now???? Thanks you, Kathryn |

Re: Key hole won't emboss correctly.....
It sounds as though you are working on a merged or flattened layer. Make sure that your 'keyhole' is on its own separate layer. If your layer is filled with colour to the boundaries of the image then the bevel will be applied to the edge of the document. You are correct; the key hole is already merged with its base. I'll just have to redo. Thanks |
