Printing
Don't know if this is a Photoshop or printer issue. Example - A5 landscape canvas. Image fills canvas. Go to borderless printing, image looks ok on preview, but print comes out with about an eighth of an inch cut off all round. That's regardless of warning 'some cropping may occur' being there or not. Sorry if that is not for this Forum, but very frustrated. Chris Harrott |

Re: Printing
Chris, You don't say what printer you are using. It sounds like it's probably a printer thing. Most consumer printers don't print edge to edge. One way around it if you want an exact A5 size print is to size your image to A5 dimensions, which I assume you have already done, and then print it on a larger sheet of paper then trim the paper. I know it's wasteful of paper but it does get you the right size of print. Maybe someone else on the forum knows something? Gordon _________________ You're never too old to learn something stupid. |

Re: Printing
Thanks Gordon. HP Photosmart Premium 3-in-1 C410. It is supposed to print borderless edge to edge. |

Re: Printing
If the preview in Photoshop is showing a correct print with borderless... then it's likely the printer setting, as Gordon suggests. Be sure to click on "Print Settings" or "Advanced" and double check. Also, check the paper setting. Some printers with borderless printing will have a paper stock for "A5" and a separate setting for "A5 Borderless". If you have the default A5 paper setting, it will print with a border every time. (My Epson has that, not sure about HP). Also, check if the image printing at the correct size and simply being trimmed to make the border,, or if the image is being scaled down to fit within the margins. It could be a "Scale to Fit" setting in the Printer's settings. |

Re: Printing
Lastly, you could try this... Pause the printer or turn it off. Go to photoshop and print the image. Then open the Printer's Queue program and you'll see the image job waiting to print. There should be a button for your to check the settings of that print job, and there might be options for you to change the settings and make any corrections for borderless printing. Then turn on the printer and print the image borderless. ![]() |
