My brush is not giving 100% cover.
After selecting an image, I changed to Quickview and painted in the missing bits. but as you can see on the attached image, it is not giving me white in the repainted areas. Brush is set to 100%.  _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

Vibeke - If you are on a Mac go to: Settings > Accessibility > Display > set cursor size to Normal |

That certainly affects size. I had that problem once years ago in Photoshop because I had set my cursor in the OS to larger than normal. But this looks to me more like an opacity problem. Brush is set to normal and 100%, the problem only happens if I'm in Quick Mask, definitely an opacity problem. If I disable Quick Mask and continue using the same brush it gives 100% cover. _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

OK. More silly questions. Next to opacity on the property bar is a little circle with a pencil in it. It assigns opacity to pressure. Has it been accidentally pressed? What I find bizarre is that this problem is a kind of reverse problem. All sorts of things like opacity can make a black brush go 'thin'. I am not sure what could be making a white brush get darker. If you are anything like me you are always going to try here first among friends you trust, but ave you done a search in the adobe forums or even a google? No, I have checked that have got pressure to 'off', and strange that when I disable Quick Mask the same bush works perfectly. It has been bothering me for a while so I have started to try and find out WHY. Have tried MR Google but haven't found anything useful yet. My workaround is I select my selection and then fill the mask with white. _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

I have finally got it figured. The reason it worked on my laptop and not on my iMac was that on The iMac the selected area was coloured on the laptop the masked area. So when trying to add to the selected area (on the laptop) I used white, no problem. When doing it on the iMac I used (black) and only got grey. Having got this far I checked the black while in mask mode. It was not 100 % black.
