exporting actions
I made a bunch of actions , including a set of three to automate making neon lights, but I have no idea of how to export them, and 'theres an option in the palette' dosen't really help me

Re: exporting actions
Select the set of Actions you want to save, and choose Save Actions from the pop-up menu. Did I say 'export' somewhere in the book? If so, my apologies.

Re: exporting actions
here i have
one set to shift-f2 that deletes a pixel around the edge of a layer

one set to f2 that deselects

plus 3 others to make neon
1) to run if you are making a text layer (unrastered) into neon
2) to run after that (always)
3) to run after you delete the spaces in the neon
(because its realy one tube)

Re: exporting actions
Thanks for those! I tend to use Actions for more everyday tasks than creating neon effects, but it's good to see you working with them.

Does this mean you'll finally be ditching Elements and going for the Real Thing, then?

Re: exporting actions
well, right now I'm using cs2 , but I don't know about buying it (although eventer gave me a good suggestion, which I am working on. I'll tell you what it is if it works).

but, if at any time you wish to buy me cs2, I certainly won't object.

Re: exporting actions
On the topic of actions...

I just loaded CS2 - I thought it would 'pick up' the actions and tool presets from PS7 and it did not. Is there a way of asking it to adopt my custom stuff from PS7?

Re: exporting actions
If you save all your brushes, actions, presets and swatches out of PS7, using the Save option in the pop-up menus for each palette, you can then load them into CS2 in the same way.

Enjoy it!
