CS2 Installation
Very frustrated, Just installed CS2 standard but can't open photoshop. Got a pop-up that read "unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. sorry but error is unrecoverable". I opened Image Ready and Illustrator no problem. Anybody? This is like Christmas morning with no presents! Thank you in advance Does the McAfee have to be off in order to install CS2? _________________ Steve Mac |

Re: CS2 Installation
I tried to look up the error to no avail. I wouldn't think McAfee would cause a problem but it can't hurt to try without it. What system spec are you running? _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

Re: CS2 Installation
had a similar problem with mine. after installing CS2 premier PS wouldn't open any files at all. Rang Adobe (be prepared for a long wait and that they'll try and charge you premium rate for support) and after reinstalling have now only managed to fix it by creating a new user account which has somehow allowed me to open PS in all user accounts. I run a Mac by the way so things may be different on a PC - good luck _________________ most of the lack of sunshine in our lives is caused by us standing in our own shadow |

Re: CS2 Installation
Thanks guys, tried reinstalling with no McAfee and no PS.I ahd this problem recently with the PS demo CD that came with Photoshop Creative Handbook. Found out the CD is currupt. This may have caused a problem with my system that has only to do with PS because with the demo CD I could open Image Ready as well. Thanks for your ideas. I guess I'll just spend the next couple of days holding for tech support from Adobe, Dell and MS. By the way, I'm using Win XP with service pack 1. Tried installing Serv pack 2 and it mess up my MS Outlook. Had to uninstall it. Also have 1.5 gig of ram. Wish me luck. One of these days you will see some work from me! _________________ Steve Mac |
