clipping mask
Chapter 9: making water from thin air. Pic of boy staring into sand pit. Step 2: Paint area to be occupied by water (the sandpit) Step 3: Duplicate b/ground and flip it to use as reflection USING WATER LAYER AS CLIPPING MASK to limit its scope. Can anyone explain how step 3 works? Cheers Chris |

Re: clipping mask
What Steve means by a Clipping Mask is exactly the same as when you group the layers together. The duplicated and flipped background layer of the boy staring into the sandpit is grouped to the water filled sand pit layer, which means the 'clipped' background layer of the boy is only visible where it overlaps the water layer all the other parts of the flipped background layer become invisible. |
