From Illustrator to Corell
How would I go about opening a .EPS or .DXF file that was created in Illustrator CS2 and needs to be opened in CorellDRAW12 with all the nodes and lines fully editable within the art? I have tried import, export, copy/paste, and just about everything I can think of none or only a couple of lines in the art is succesfully transferred. But I don't get the entire piece or any of the text and fills. When I copy and paste, or drag the object to the Corell workspace, the art is sent as a Bitmap and is not editable. Thanks Chris |

That's a tricky one. Have you tried exporting from Illustrator in the lowest-version AI file offered? That should be openable by CorelDraw. |

Re: From Illustrator to Corell
Thanks Steve After much frustration and headache, I finally found the problem. Corell12 is not compatable with files created or transferred from Illustrator versions 10 and up. So, I had to save the file as a fully editable PDF for Acrobat 7 to the desktop, and open the PDF file in Corell. This resulted in the complete graphic and all nodes to be present in Corell12. I had to dig through quite a bit of help files to find the one sentence that told me why I was having the problem! lol Chris |

Re: From Illustrator to Corell
Not only did the PDF solve my problem, but saving the file under the lowest version took care of it as well. Sorry about the late response, but I've been a busy lil bee! ![]() |
