Stubborn Clipping Mask!
A designer sent me a subdivision sign which will be fabricated as a digital print. She designed it using Illustrator CS2 and sent the file as a .EPS. On the background, there is supposed to be a picture of a leaf at 40% opacity and a clipping mask to constrain it to the inside of the border on the sign.

For some reason the leaf doesn't show up on my monitor and when I view the layout at the Print screen it's still hidden. But when I print the page, the leaf shows up perfectly!

I've already checked to see if the leaf is hidden or at 0% opacity.

Am I seeing a ghost? How would I go about finding this phantom leaf?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Also, I tried to relink the leaf file with no success...

Interesting. You've viewed the file in Illustrator, presumably?

Re: Stubborn Clipping Mask!
I use a good "Print screen" capture program called RapidShot that gives me the option of capturing the whole screen or just the "active" layer/window, so presumably the leaf layer is not active.

Out of curiosity, does the leaf show up when you "Flatten" image?

Re: Stubborn Clipping Mask!
HA! Thanks Michael! When I attempted to flatten the image, Illustrator needed me to embed the artwork first in the links pallet. After the artwork was embedded her leaf magically appeared!

Thanks guys for your help! Now I can eat lunch!
