Batch Resize ?
Trying to batch resize a folder of images, everything works fine except the "jpeg options" dialog keep popping-up, halting the batch processing. How do I disable the "jpeg options" dialog or stop it from interrupting the batch process?

Re: Batch Resize ?
Have you placed 'stop' feature in the action at that point?

Re: Batch Resize ?
Steve, thanks for the reply.

Yes & No - While I didn't have a 'stop' feature, I was trying to save the image using the actions that I had recorded. This included the save function. Once I removed the save function from the list of actions everything worked fine.

* This did not work *
Action- Batch Resize 1024 width
Image Size
Save <- This caused the JPEG Oprion Dialog to halt the Action

* This worked *
Action- Batch Resize 1024 width
Image Size

Re: Batch Resize ?
Ah, yes, of course. The Save built into the batch process won't trip you up like a Save in the Action itself. I should have remembered that!

Re: Batch Resize ?
Well, I thought I had it fixed....

I'm still having the 'JPEG Option' Dialog box appear during file saving?

Re: Batch Resize ?
Hmm. You shouldn't be getting that now. Are you specifying a different folder for the processed images? That might help.

Re: Batch Resize ?
Yes, the resized images are being sent to a different folder. Perhaps it has something to do with the options used or not used when resizing?

The original images are 5000 pixels wide at 200 dpi after processing the images need to be 1024 pixels wide at 72 dpi. Perhaps the conversion from 200 dpi to 72 dpi is causing an issue? Currently my settings are as follows:

Image Size Dialog
Scale Styles - Disabled
Constrain Proportions - Enabled
Resample Image - Enabled with Bicubic selected.

Batch Dialog
The only box checked is 'Suppress File Options Dialogs.
The remaining check boxes are unchecked (disabled)

I used another program to complete the task but would still like to know how it's done in Photoshop.

Re: Batch Resize ?
And you're specifying the Override Actions Save As option in the batch dialog? Maybe you should remove the save from the original action. Can you post a screen grab of the batch dialog, and maybe the Action, so we can see where the problem might be?

Re: Batch Resize ?
Steve,

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, I need to place this on a "back burner" while I tend to some more pressing matters.

Hi Jwhite

Once, not so long ago, was a time that I had to process many 10s of images thus and the only solution was - wait for it - to leave my mobile phone on a lump of plasticine all in turn on the 'enter' or 'return' button.

However, to answer your query in accordance with a ps procedure... I found that you may create an action but instead of deploying the 'save as' option, use the 'save for web' option. I do not know what the difference in outcome is, but if set to the maximum quality, the secondary image is not visibly different. Perhaps Steve could clarify? Perhaps a question for a separate post.

There is a size limit, I think, i.e. images too high a resolution for the 'image ready' module to handle, this usually just slows it down but still proceeds.

Still there is a sweet and visceral pleasure leaving ones phone to work. I prefer this and use my hole-punch if someone calls.
