Quick mask
Okay you guys/gals are going to get tired of me. I have never used photoshop, but am very avid in PSP 9 so kinda trying to feel my way around at the moment. I am on page 9 of the book "Quick mask 1: better selection" I got through steps 1 to 8 with no problem. Hit ctrl + j and created a new layer. However, when I hit "Q" to activate quick mask again and I try to paint over the darker areas nothing is happening. My brush settings are all set to 100% and my foreground to black and background to white. I also closed out the background layer and actived the top layer, so that is not the problem. Oh just a note, I am using Photoshop 7.0 and on a few occassions when it did paint something it came out black or a dark blue (have no clue where the blue came from) I have no clue why this is not working, any suggestions? ![]() Thanks so much for your help, Julie |

Re: Quick mask
Julie, Make sure your mode at the top is set to normal. This about drove me crazy when I started. I didn't know what I was doing wrong until I stumbled across the mode. Mine was set to multiply and quickmask wouldn't do anything. If this doesn't work then you will have to get a solution from someone else, LOL. I'm new to photoshop too and I am still in the infancy stage. _________________ "I haven't failed.... I've found 10,000 ways that don't work!" Thomas Edison |

Re: Quick mask
Thanks, I will keep that in mind for future reference. I can't remember what I did but I did get it to finally work. I think I cleared/unchecked something and now it is working. Man, I thought PSP was going to be the end of me when I first started. Now I know it like the back of my hand and I'm starting from scratch with this program. I guess I really am blonde to do that, it can get very frustrating. Julie ![]() |
