Layers palette
My layers palete keeps disappearing whenever I click on a choice from the menu at the top of the screen. I can get it back easy enough, but it just won't stay, and this is a real "bugger"! |

If you keep the layers palette in the Palette Well, then yes, it will disappear when you click on it - that's to keep the clutter out of the way. Pull it out of the Palette Well and place it on the right of your monitor, and it will stay where it's put. |
