Selection problems
I feel a bit daft for asking this after using photoshop for such a long time but ... I seem to have a problem when I make selections now ... I must have pressed something by accident or something ![]() Whenever I make a selection now ... It seems to select everything 'outside' the marching ants instead of 'inside' ... I've looked in Photoshop help but couldn't find the answer there? What can I do to get this back to normal? cheers Dek |

Re: Selection problems
I believe that is how it works for me, so having made my selection, I go to the main menu and under Select select Inverse to get the object I want selected rather than its background. I hope this helps--Michael ![]() |

Re: Selection problems
Dek, Is this using the selection tools (marquee, lasso, etc.) or conversion from a path? If it's the latter, it's most likely that you have the path mode set to Subtract, rather than add. I tried to replicate it with standard tools but couldn't (CS2/CS3) _________________ If you hold on to the past, sooner or later you'll lose your grip. |

Re: Selection problems
Are you talking about QuickMask selections? If so, double-click the QuickMask icon to bring up the dialog, and change the setting from 'masked' to 'selected'. |

Re: Selection problems
Eeek! ... sorry I didn't make my question clearer. Thanks for your replies ... It was as David suspected ... some dummy (I guess that would be me) had clicked on the 'subtract from shape' button somewhere along the line ![]() Thanks again |
