cs2 doesn't save PSD
since the past couple of weeks i am facing a peculiar problem...the s-ware doent save or save as a psd file.....it gives the error message....'COULD NOT SAVE AS THE FILE IS ALREADY IN USE OR WAS LEFT OPEN'......please advice....regards, manish rangnekar, architect

Are you on a PC? I am not sure about the Mac, but if on a PC, this would mean that the windows OS shows that something has that file open, and it is, therefore read only. Try using "Save As" and saving it with a new file name.

Can also happen when there is a dialog box open connected with the image. I found that CS2 was past master at hiding its own dialog boxes behind the main window. Click on an open space in the Photoshop screen to bring it forward again.

I usually find it is a lack of memory at the time. Just wait and try again.
If you go to where you saved the file you will find a tep file with a funny name. If you rename it to the correct name and extension, you will find that it opens O.K.

ok fellas : many thankx for ur comments....but i finally got the solution....the antivirus seemed to be clashing with the cs2...funny as it may seem, as i always use all official (original) softwares.....anyways....do keep this in mind in case u guys face similar situation....many thankx, manish
