Brush-on Colour P29-29
Have done this exercise a few times no problem. When I try to do it on my own images the colurs seems washed out. I have checked the opacity, checked the brush strength. Tried to change a glass of water into a nice deep rich red burgundy. (No i'm not him) all I got was a pale looking glass of mateus rose. When I have tried to paint something black I can barely manage a pale gray. What have I missed, what am I doing wrong. Help ray |

When you use the Colour brush, you're changing the hue of the painted object, but not the brightness. That's why the water will never look like burgundy. Instead, select the wine area and use Curves to darken it and add red. This will give you much better results. |

Steve, that did the trick, thank you. I forgot I have changed colours in the past using Adjustment layers / Colour Balance. I just remembered if there is a way of doing something in Photoshop there is usually an alternative method of getting the end result. The burgundy tastes real good. (Its all in my mind) ray |
