PSCS3 Bug???
I've got a problem! It doesn't happen very often but when it does it annoys me. Because I'm not very expert with the pen tool I often use the Polygonal tool to extract. I find that sometimes, as I'm clicking, I suddenly lose the tools and other pallettes and, with another click I lose the picture as well and I'm left with a blank screen but with the tool and pallette templates spaces and the polygonal lines. If I then 'double click' to make a selection the whole screen reappears. I spent the weekend trying to recreate this to no avail but tonight whilst working on the challenge it did it again.

Any thoughts??

Ted

That sounds suspiciously like a memory (lack thereof) issue. I've found drawing selections has become incredibly resource hungry in CS3. It could be that the system is having to page out to scratch space a lot which is causing lag on the screen refresh.

Hmmmm. Thanks David and Steve. I only have a 1gig memory. I will make enquires about adding more. When I think back to my BBC Micro in 1982 which had 64K memory which included 32k RAM!!!

Re: PSCS3 Bug???
Ted, I have had a similar problem with mine and I am using CS2 with 3 gigs of RAM. I think my problem might be that my video card is maxed out at 256k. Then again, I use a PC so... need I say more?

Re: PSCS3 Bug???
Thanks one and all. Ithink I will have to change the status of this to: live with it. It doesn't happen that often but at least with your advice I now know what it probably is.
