A question about quick masks...
I am now going through the body change tutorial, with the womans body and arnies head.

When i make the quick mask just before moving a bit of the womans body to cover the gap where her body was not big enough, i make a new layer from the quick mask but i always have to inverse it first, otherwise i get the rest of the layer on the new layer.

Is this normal to have to inverse it all the time and just not mentioned on your video tutorials or do i have something selected in the menus that means i need to inverse it before i can get it onto the new layer?

i hope this question makes sense, thanks in advance for your help.

Re: A question about quick masks...
If you double click on the Quick mask icon you should see its default behaviour. You probably have the setting whereby the red opaque setting is showing "unselected" areas...

Re: A question about quick masks...
The default behaviour for QuickMask is to allow users to paint masked (unselected areas). I always prefer to work the other way around, so that painted areas are selected.

Double-click the QuickMask icon at the bottom of the toolbar, and change the method from Unselected to Selected in the dialog that pops up.

This is explained right at the beginning of the first QuickMask tutorial in the book, but you aren't the first person to miss it!

Ha ha cool. thanks for the replies.

I did do up to around the layers masks tutorials in the book when i first bought it about a year ago so forgot a few of those things.

I'll change it as having the painted areas selected is easier and just makes more sense anyway.
