Filters>Render>Lighting Effect
Sorry to a pain with these (I'm sure) simple questions, but I promise I have tried to sort it. My question is this: Why isn't 'Lighting Effects' in the Filters>Render menu? I am pretty sure that I am working in 8-bit. I have the menus set to show all. And, I am pretty sure that it was there at sometime, or maybe I am being confused with PS4 before I upgraded. Is this something I need to install from the disc separately, I would have thought it would have loaded as part of the basic package. Mark, got the following from adobe website http://help.adobe.com/en_US/photoshop/cs/using/WSfd1234e1c4b69f30ea53e41001031ab64-7959a.html "The Lighting Effects filter works only on RGB images and is unavailable in 64-bit versions of Mac OS." Do either of these apply to your situation? There is a lot of comment and other links on that webpage which may be useful. Cheers Vern |

Actually, you only lose Lighting Effects in 64-bit mode. Assuming you're working on a Mac, select the Photoshop application in the Finder. Choose Get Info, and check the box marked "open in 32-bit mode" (or something like that). Photoshop will be a little sluggish, but Lighting Effects (and other third-party filters you may have lost) will be returned. |
