100% Photoshop book question - Need help!
Using CS4 and trying to just do the beginning practice of "creating the ring" - Followed the directions in steps 1 - 3 now quite a few times and the QUICKMASK does NOT select the circle, it select everything but the circle . . . so can't get the practice to work right. Any suggestions? |

Check out the description of QuickMask on page 5. The default behaviour is for it to act as a masking rather than a selection tool; I find it much more useful the other way around. Double-click the tool icon, and in the dialog set the mode from Masked Areas to Selected Areas. You're by no means the first person to trip up on this one! |

Hi there dhanson. You need to double click the quick mask icon then change the settings on the radio button to selected areas rather than masked areas and the quick mask will then function in the same way as Steve's book. Cheers Vern |
