How to fit a rectangle in a square
Hi everyone, so I made this colorful picture in a rectangle and now I find out that I have to fit it FULLY inside the white square. Please tell me how do I do that perfectly?? Thank you so much ![]() _________________ Why not! |

Re: How to fit a rectangle in a square
I am not quite sure I understand your question. Technically just put the image on a layer above the square and drag and size it until it fits where you want. This, however, is going to completely distort your image. There is no simple way of doing this without cropping or distorting the image. I think you will have to separate the various elements of the image, get them onto separate layers and then play with them. Some of the simple shapes like sun, sky and cloud I would simply re-draw from scratch. The palm you can cut out with the selection brush. The entire blue square with waves you can duplicate and drag them sideways over one another to line up the waves at the joins - repeat as required. In short I think you have to take the image apart and recompose it. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: How to fit a rectangle in a square
oh..thank you, yes I was trying to put the rectangle inside of the square and it was very distorted. Great idea, I will just do it again inside the square, I was hoping it was a way to do it directly with some transform tools, but I guess is not possible. Thank you I will separate each item and start from scratch. _________________ Why not! |

Re: How to fit a rectangle in a square
There is a compromise. Leave the existing image alone and size it to fit the height of the square and place it horizontally in the centre of the square. Extend just sky and waves either side and leave the sun and palm tree alone. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |
