Have no Idea how to even try to finish this
Tried to do a couple doing the tango. The guy kind of dipping her and I wanted to do a cool effect where her skirt is spinning and splashing. I did the glass effect to the body but was adding little white foamy splashes to outline it and match the fountain.

Im not even sure that I'm asking for help I just wanted to show you the hotmess that's frustrating me oh so much

To post an image, first open the image in a new tab on the imgur website, then copy the address. Then replace https:// with img:// and enclose the entire url in square brackets.

An interesting challenge. Can you post the original image of the dancers before you treated them?

Thats not a bad start Yvette.

Now you need to trawl the net for splashes. Searching for PNGs may help avoid having to cut them out. Or look for splashes on black and overlay them in screen mode.

Once you have them them streaming out from the skirt a little bit of motion blur might help too.

Ok I Have a question, so I try to flatten/rasterize the water people but when I do it changes the look of it. Can I avoid this?
Cause I want to erase the parts where I add splashes but with the effects it erases with the effect and ruins the image.

alright lets see if this works,

sigh.

anyway left pic is what I did and the right is what happens when I flatten image or rasterize. I want to keep the more shiny left look

To post an image, first open the image in imgur, not just the page on which it appears.

Then replace https:// with img://, and put the whole thing in square brackets.

Hi Yvette

I am not quite sure I understand your question. But if am am not mistaken you are using layer effects and then want to flatten/rasterise the layer and this is causing disappointing results.

I may be about to teach you to suck eggs but here are a couple of different approaches to using layer effects.

The example here is very crudely done and primitive and is not meant to be a solution to your problem or even a good example - it's just to give you something to try - if you didn't know it already.

The top image shows a simple figure. Fig1

The next image down I have applied bevel and inner glow effects as layer effects. Fig2

Once these are in place you can reduce the Fill Opacity of the 'mother' layer to zero to make it invisible. However the effects remain visible and adjustable! Fig3

Another approach which should avoid your problems to convert your layer effects into discrete separate layers.

In the main menus go Layer > Layer Style > Create Layer.

The image will not change but your effects have now each been moved to their own layers where you can play with them individually. Fig4

You can try playing with their order, opacity and blend modes.

Merging and flattening these once you are done should present no undesirable side effects. Do them one at a time from the top down.

Don't know if this will be any help but it's a very flexible approach to manipulating effects of this kind.

Good luck!
