help with Polygonal lasso tool in select and mask
I can't get the polygonal lasso tool in select and mask to join. As i click i get the points and marching ants but when I click at the end to join all the lines disappear. I can get the tool to work ok when I am not in the select and mask. Can anyone help. I am new trying to select things. I have become keen after Steve came to our photo club this week |

Hi SarahLou. Welcome to the forum. When you click back at the start point are you single clicking or double clicking? A single click will connect all the points and create a selection but a double click will start a new selection. Hope this helps. Also check top left in the property bar the tool's mode (Add, Subtract, Intersect). You may be trying inadvertently to create a mask where it already exists (or vice versa) in which case the tool will do nothing. Look at the cursor in the image. If it has a little plus sign beside it then it will draw fine in a red area but do nothing in a white area. The converse will be true if it has a minus sign beside the cursor. Good luck.
