Keepin Che Alive
Could someone assist me in blending this Che image and this Trinidad & Tobago flag. I am trying to make a political statement. I have tried so far as best i could to make this image (See Attachments) but I only succeeded in desecrating my country's flag (removing the black bend in order for Che's face to show). Plz help

How do you mean by blending?

Surely the political statement is more effective if you were to desecrate the flag? I guess I may not understand.

Pic 1: Start with your flag and che on seperate layers. I got rid of the white from my original che picture. Do not worry about the white it may leave around the edge as it is hidden in pic 3.

Pic 2: right click on the che layer and select blending options

Pic 3: Click on stroke on the left of the new dialog box, and alter the settings. Change from the standard red colour to white, and make the line thicker. Hopefully this should be a straight forward step.

Pic 4: Create a new layer and place below the Che layer. Use the paint brush tool and paint white inside the face. Because the layer is below you do not need to worry about going around the facial features. You could now leave this here finished..

Pic 5: I didn't like some of the stray details on the image so with the Che layer selected, i used the eraser brush and discarded of them.

I think this might be a solution to keeping the integrity of the Trinidad flag and still retaining the image of Ché

Firstly the Ché image had all the white background removed using the Magic Eraser Tool set to a Tolerance of 24.

Then I added a Layer Effect of Outer Glow using these settings

also an Inner Shadow set to:

which gives the image some depth.

finally the Ché layer was set to these settings:

of course you should play around with the settings to suit your own ideas but this is an example of how you can retain both images without obscurring either them.

Two good solutions here - and great explanations for both. Sadly, it looks as if the original poster has wandered off. Ah well.

Maybe someone took exception to his "political statement" and he was arrested
