Rather unusual challenge I have
I have images of a model wearing hose but the photos require bare legs. Any way to get rid of the hose appearance using textures and color/ contrast, etc. Thank you |

Tricky one. Let us see the image, and we may be able to make some suggestions! |

Steve, I don't know the answer to your question, and I don't mean to appear rude, but I presume you will be cutting the model out from the background - note the rope from the umbrella! |

Um Deborah, That's pretty awful. I apologise to any others who are put off by this! Not sure about the background but will certainly get that out. I did not take the pic. Steve |

Hi Steve, This took about 10 minutes with the following steps. I outlined the legs with the Pen Tool and copied them onto a new layer. I used Hue Saturation to approximately match the colour of her skin. I adjusted the colour again with Colour Balance set to Midtones. I'm not sure it this is right for you but it's easy to get any colour you want this way. rufus |

Color looks good--how about borrowing "texture" from another image
Hi Rufus and All That is a vast improvement. As far as the skin texture goes I have attached another shot provided to me of this young lady sans hose. Granted this shot leaves much to be desired but is there a way to change the skin texture to get rid of the softening effect of the hose? Perhaps something similar to matching "grain" in a montage? Thanks |

Re: Rather unusual challenge I have
This is a much better image and not suffering from compression so much. Mr. Caplin discusses sampling grain from one image to match grain in a montage of two images. Is it possible to sample this image and use it to adjust skin texture in the first image? Hope that makes sense. Thanks |

Re: Rather unusual challenge I have
It is possible to sample skin texture, as you suggest. But it would take a fair amount of work to make the texture fit the bends and curves without looking artificial. I'd take Rufus' approach, and then use Dodge and Burn to add some highlights and shading to the legs, simulating the shine you get on skin. Sorry I don't have time to show you this. |

Thank you Steve, If anyone else on the forum has time to give me some hints, it would be appreciated. My first perception is that one would tend to want to use burn to define bone structure a bit and highlights in other places. |
