How can I improve?
Hello Being inspired by beautiful work by Dimitri Depaepe, I try my hand at something similar. I only have the sky and cello to work with. Briefly, the process was. Duplicate sky, flip on the vertical, stitch and add water displacement map. Place selected cello on top, duplicate the cello flip on the horizontal, add water displacement map, transform to distort perspective and reduced opacity. Image deleted I'm not entirely sure I have the reflection right. You should be able to tell what I've done here, but is there a way I can improve the perspective reflection. I somehow feel it's not quite right. Thank you Kind regards Scott |

An unusual and attractive image. I would suggest that the reflection looks a little harsh and you may wish to play around with the settings of the displacement map, i.e. the vertical and horizontal distortion settings. If you save a variety of maps, you can apply each one and see which works best. Also, a touch more blur on the map may do the trick. You have lost the scroll of the cello in the reflection, which unbalances the image. Hope this helps. Nick |

Thank you Nick I took your advice on balancing the image better and added some motion blur to the reflection. I also played with the perspective of the reflection. It isn't perfect by any means, but I think it's an improvement. Scott |

Hi Scott, I think that's a great improvement. The marked transition between water and sky has helped immensely. Nick |
