is there a way to make the ground shake
hi i have been trying multiple ways to simulate the grass rippling, but not having much luck. I have a picture of my cousing playing rugby and about to jump of the ground, but what i would like to do is make the field ripple, as if he has put a lot of pressure into the ground, that he has made the grass ripple, a bit like the scene out of the matrix. if any one has come accross or knows a way please let us know would be great. regards savy |

Is this the kind of effect you seek, savy? Adapted from a simple water ripple. _________________ Lonnie |

hi lonnie simular to that, but yours come out better than mine tho, do you think there is a way to make the ripples darker so it has more depth might work. i was following steves how to cheat book were he blended the british flag into a brick wall, but i was using a black and grey image of a ripple in water , then using the hue to turn green to match grass, then oppacity to see the grass still, and using hard light but looked a bit messy. but yours looks great is that with the filter menue, then distort and zig zag? thanks lonnie regards savy |

I made a mask using Eye Candy's Ripple filter. In this case, a mask is more versatile than applying directly to image. The mask was used with zoom blur, layer styles (bevel) and a few adjustment layers to get the effect. In lieu of this you should be able to use Photoshop's ZigZag filter for similar results. Using a displacement map may also have potential for this. It'd be easier to say if you show what you've done so far. _________________ Lonnie |
