ghost images from drop shadows...
hi all! i'm incurring a situation for the friday contest. i have the pill bottle, made a pill, and copied it lots of times, then moved each one into place. as i'm going back over them and giving them drop shadows and bevel embosse's i'm seeing some ghost shadows where there are no pills! can someone take a guess as to what is causing this? thanks! |

Hmm, a weird one. Drop shadow wouldn't have been my first choice as it's really for top-down visuals. Maybe post a work in progress here so we can see the problem? _________________ A happy-go-lucky chap, always dressed in black |

Re: ghost images from drop shadows...
what and give away my madness masterpiece!? no way! lol! it is rather odd though. i opend a new file next to the old one and transferred one pill and along with it came three shadow outlines, so i know they're there. i erased the out lines and will start over again with just that one, hopefully no more ghosts. thanks for your help dave. |

Yes, I see what you mean. How did you copy the pills? If it was with a selection, that might explain it. _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

Looking at your image I guess that you have at some stage selected a pill and deleted it, leaving some semi transparent pixels around the outside. If you want to delete all the pixels, select around the pill with a marquee tool and then delete. Try creating a new pill on a seperate layer and add the drop shadow layer style. Duplicate this layer a number of times and use free transform to adjust each pill's shape and position. |

1.put a bunch of pills into a small bowl and photograph them. 2.select a number of the pills together (pen tool) outlining around entire pills. 3. drag the selection of several pills onto the bottle. 4. if you wish to fill in empty areas then select individual pills copy(CTRL-J) and move around. 5. add some slight drop shadows |

Martin - using apostrophes in file names will prevent them loading properly. I've edited yours, but that's the reason they weren't showing up; Steve |
