Need help with shadow cast
So I was working on a piece for the Friday Challenge, London 2012, and just couldn't seem to get the central shadow to look right. The challenge is the object casting the shadow is elevated and closer to the camera... anyway, just trying to get a convincing/believable shadow without losing too much... I've posted this on another forum as well... just hoping someone can help... *click the pic for larger view... _________________ Drawing attention to what otherwise might be overlooked... emphasizing things that matter. |

hi-liter, as I see it, to create a convincing shadow you need to turn the graphics inside the rings upside down, something you also have to do to 2012. You also need to need to add some (more?) perspective to the 2012 shadow to make it look right. The shadow of the runner may also need a little more perspective follow the shadow of the tree and the sticks (Draw a line from the center of to check!). Hope this helps! _________________ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Re: Need help with shadow cast
Whaler, thanks for the input... I had my reasons for leaving the elements upside right, but agree that it's not consistent with a shadow. So, put your suggestions into practice and well, still not 100 % but probably better. Thanks for the pointers. _________________ Drawing attention to what otherwise might be overlooked... emphasizing things that matter. |
