Logo Help
Hey guys I am having a little trouble with this logo image. U see I am trying to get the text to follow a path that I drew with the pen tool that would follow the convex and concave of the crosshair at the same time be equidistant from each point of its tips, but for some reason (most likely lack of skills) I unable to achieve this. Any suggestions? (preferably in great detail plz) |

Re: Logo Help
First, switch to the Shapes tool. Make sure it's set to draw paths (rather than to create solid shapes, for instance) - check the middle of the three icons on the far left. Draw a circle to the right size, then duplicate it three times so you get one for each block of text. You can only have one piece of text on each path. Hide all but one of the circles, and move the Type tool next to it: the icon will change to show you're going to be placing text on the path. Click and type your text, resize it and you're done. For the lower two words, the text will still be placed above the line rather than below it. Select the words after you've typed them and use the Baseline Shift feature in the Character panel to nudge the type down by a few points. Hope this makes sense! |

Re: Logo Help
Mr Caplin firstly I must say thanks for the help. However the lower texts keeps going in a clockwise direction when I type on their paths and clashing with the upper texts. I tried using the path selection tool and the transformation (rotate & flip tools) to change the text direction but it still follows the clockwise direction. Any help anyone??? |

Re: Logo Help
Sorry about that last post in my haste and folly I didn't take time to comprehend your instructions. I now understand them especially the one with the Baseline Shift feature in the Character Panel. Although the text was on the inside of the circular path it made it appear that it was on the outside following an anticlockwise direction. Thanks Mr. Caplin!! You have made me a very happy apprentice!!!! Looking forward for your future tutelage in Photoshop!!!! |
