For the church
We have a new minister and this image is all I have to work with for a newspaper article and the website. Any suggestions for improvement would be appreciated! Thanks in advance, --Chris |

Do you have a nice image of the church or the area you could use for background? _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

Out of interest Tank, what do you shoot with? I wouldn't dream of taking a shot like that without a strobe - especially in that light. You have gone a little blue with your retouch, and I would say, you made your adjustments global. The quick fix for it would be the Shadow/Highlight adjustment to bring those blown pixels under control, (there a lot of them) and slightly lift the shadows. The use a Curves layer while targeting the two central children, (I made it 133 in 154 out, and 85 in 92 out). Invert the mask (Ctrl i) and paint the kid's face's etc in with a soft white brush. _________________ Trevor Dennis www.flickr.com/photos/trevor-dennis/ |

Re: For the church
Thank you for the feedback. Trevor, the image was supplied by a member of the Minister's previous church with a P&S digital. Your right, strobes and softboxes would have produced a higher quality starting image. I will occasionally need to shoot portraits, and will rent the proper studio equipment for a Canon 5d Mk2 at that time. |
