Manzoni typography face
I'm working on this art project for a literature contest about Manzoni. The contest title is I Colloqui Fiorentini and will take place in Firenze this February. The contest is about writing an essay. Our group wrote about the good and the evil events in the novels The Betrothed and Adelchi. But it's possible to make an artistic production as well (graphic design, paint, sculpture, photography, music...). We've already played a music (violin) and now we'd like to make a graphic design. I came up with this image: Manzoni's face is composed by the most important words of our essay (good, evil, justice, Manzoni...). So now I need your help: how can I improve this image? Any ideas? What do you think? I have to finish this work by Monday. Comments and suggestions are more than welcome! Thanks! Stefano |

I think it is great just as it is, Stefano. If you have an original photo image that's in color, you might want to experiment with bringing some of the color tones into the text? Or perhaps a very low opacity hint of the image in the background? But, don't get overzealous. Leave well enough alone! _________________ Lonnie |

Stefano, I know I am very late in commenting but would like to say that your typographical portrait is great! Is all of the shading around the lips, nose and eyes in type at a very small scale as well? How did you get on in the contest by the way? Vern |
