Hair cut
I need to remove the cream background so the hair in this shot is against the cloudy sky. Tried background eraser and failed dismally. Is there a technique I can use for this?

Re: Hair cut
Have a look at the Channels palette and see which gives you the most contrast. Work on a duplicate of that channel to increase the contrast. You will need to, probably, get the background totally white and the hair and face are totally black then invert the channel so that the hair and face is white and Ctrl/Cmd click on the channel to select it.

Cmd J will then put it all on a separate layer.

It's a finicky job but it can be done. Let me know if you need further info.

The book you need to read for this is Katrin Eismann's on Masking & Compositing.

Re: Hair cut
Thanks Gordon
Found an online tutorial and that's exactly what it said - and it worked!

Thanks for the book recommendation.
