QuickMask page 8
Hi. Was wondering, when exiting QuickMask, not all pixels were selected as shown below?

QuickMask page 8
The most likely reason is that you are painting using a soft-edged brush. Photoshop can't display feathered edges and only shows areas of 50% opacity or more.

Make sure you're using a hard-edged brush (hardness of 90-95%).

Re: QuickMask page 8
First a question:
Did you use a BLACK colored brush inside of the figure en did you change the color to WHITE to paint out offending areas?
It seems like you 'sinned' about the above rules...
To understand a little more about Quick Mask, you could switch to the Channels panel and push the Q-key a few times (after you painted over the figure). Now you see what happens in Quick Mask mode.
On picture 6 you see that the WHOLE figure is painted (black area in the Channels panel).

Thank you! It worked this time! Not sure I understand the channels panel stuff as yet but hopefully that will appear later on in the book!

Of course everything comes in it's own time. You did the right choice with Steve's book. Keep working Melissa and don't loose your patience when you enter page 20 (The pen is mightier). Lots of succes!
