They're evil, that's what. It wouldn't surprise me if they were secretly plotting (or potting, even) to take over the world.

I left a flippant comment here first time around, but that really is a cracking piece of work. Your flair for invention continually amazes me!

Lovely recipie maiden, I think Ive gone off them a bit now! 'Not Poodle!' I like it!

Have attached a pic Im working on, your image with Prince Charles in as a toy in a box gave me an idea Steve. Have had some success (I think) with the wood section but Im not convinced on my shadows, and I was going to put a reflection like in the book, but I dont think Ive left enough space at the bottom.

Brilliant. The vertical shine on the plastic really makes this one convincing! Looking at it here, I can't tell what was there originally and what you've put in - and praise doesn't come any higher than that.

Re: George & Jack
Thanks Steve, I know youre 100% honest when looking at the images your readers produce so Im over the moon you like it!!

The image was initially just a "Fat B*stard" Austin Powers toy out of a box with a white background, then I added John's head, and because the body was already a toy I applied the plastic wrap which seems to be very effective on many of your tutorials in the book. Then I found an image of an Austin Powers box with Austin inside, removed him and placed the man inside and then the dodge for the sheen, and added the two jags. The tutorial on wood was the thing I was most pleased with because until now I would have had a really naff background.

Re: George & Jack
I have to agree with Steve and Trinity, it's what b3tans call "Top Shoppage"

Prescott's face works really well with the Plastic Wrap he really does look like a plastic doll. Excellent stuff. I also like the wood effect, would that have been in the first edition of the book? I have only got the second edition and I would have really liked to have learnt that technique.

As a little side thought, just a thought really - Superimposing Tony Blair's face on the Doctor Evil image on the box might just make that a touch more special

Thanks maiden. Chapter 8 deals with Metal, wood and stone, specifically p196-202 gave me the idea for the flooring here. Yes I thought of the Tony Blair thing, might try it, but the faces are quite small and not quite pulling it off might distract from the overall image. Certainly worth a try though!

Yes it might be too small to see, I didn't know whether you still had the .psd version. Alternatively you could try using the original Austin Powers doll image and add Tony Blair's face and have that one next to the Fat John doll, and perhaps if you could get a Dr Evil Doll that could be either Michael Howard or George Dubya Bush. Whatever you decide to do, the Precott one is a winner.

Here's a slightly different version, not sure if it works but it helps that Michael Howard is bald!

Re: George & Jack
You know, maiden was right - adding Blair and Howard really does make all the difference. The way I see it, if people are going to spend time looking at your image, you really need to reward them for their effort. With luck, each time they look they'll see something new. Took me a while to notice the two jags!

(I notice, btw, no Americans are taking part in this thread. Maybe they all find it too baffling? Do we need to tell them who the fat git in the kilt is?)

Re: George & Jack
Yes, I prefer it now, Ive spent quite a lot of time on the image, but people Ive shown it to think I just put John Prescotts head on and dont really realise how much messing around it took, in a way though this is a compliment as it prooves to me that the blending has worked okay.

I agree Steve, to the Americans here, John Prescott (aka Fat B******) in this pic is our Deputy Prime Minister, youll know Tony as he's such great pals with George, and Dr Evil is Michael Howard who is leader of the opposition (the Conservatives)

John Prescott has a love of luxury cars and I imagine fast food!! Hence the Jaguars at the bottom, his nickname is "Two Jags John" in the UK press.
