Re: Flood pic
ok... here goes nothin.... as I didn't keep a record of the pic as I was originally making it... I hadta go right back and start again... so I didn't take as much time over it this time... but hopefully anyone who wanted to know how it was done will take more time on it... firstly the boring bit....make a new layer....then I had to select everwhere I wanted snow on the buildings piece by piece (didn't like that bit at all .... took ages ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: Flood pic
set the sky pic to cover the entire pic... fiddle about with it till you're happy with where you want it... it's slightly larger than the original pic so there's a bit to play with.... Next make a Layer Mask.... then with the Gradient Tool (set to Foreground to Transparent) click sumwhere in the middle and drag up... (make sure before you do that your colors are set to black and white) |

Re: Flood pic
now grab the Smudge Tool... pick a size you think works best... probably between 9-15 bring the Strength down to between 50-65 and then start smudging the snow to make it look more like it's drifting over the buildings |

Re: Flood pic
ok..I know you've already been smart enuff to select and copy the tree on the right of the pic in the foreground... and also the building that's in the foreground on the left... I put them in a new pic to keep them safe till I needed them...so put them back into your pic... |

Re: Flood pic
cut the snow out and paste it into your original pic.... just drag the layer to make sure it goes behind the tree and building you pasted in earlier.. you mite hafta use Free Transform to stretch the snow out a lil... |

Re: Flood pic
not looking too bad now.... we're getting there ![]() Next Flatten the image..... once you happy with how it's looking so far of course.... and now we're ready to make the snow falling.... Duplicate the Background...call it Image Make a new Layer and change the blend mode to Screen 100% Fill it with white 100% now on the Filter Menu...go to Grain : Intensity 50, Contrast 100, Grain Type: Soft now Invert it....then Desaturate it go to Brightness/Contrast and set the Contrast to 75 next add Gaussian Blur: 0.5pixels Make a new layer and paint dots on it... like falling snow... then Gaussian blur them. Flatten your image..and that should be it finnished...of course you can now just tweak away at the pic like I did just to add lil extra bits in... phew...... hope this helped those who wanted to know how it was done not as hard as it looked eh?.... but that's Cheating in Photoshop for you lol.... good luck...and above all...just have fun! ![]() Dalton |
