Re: My new portfolio imaging website
Ryan, Fantastic work - I've said this about your stuff before. Really impressive. Do you get a lot of freelance work out of this site? I'd have thought you'd pick up a lot of commissions from people who own classic cars, since you have the unusual ability to make cars look sexy. If you don't get most of your work this way, it's really an avenue you should push into hard. Capturing a niche market in this way might lead to repetitive work, but I really think you could make a serious go of it. If I can help in any way, let me know. Steve |

Re: My new portfolio imaging website
Hi Steve Thanks for the comments on my work and the kind offer of help ![]() I also enjoy Photo restoration but I feel the market is flooded with restorers. I would say that image manipuation and retouching is my true love and would like to one day do image making as my fulltime career. I don`t think I would ever get bored of image making as every project offers different challenges! Any Advice you could offer Steve would be great. Many Thanks Ryan |

I think the site's great. I love the organic interface and design! My one criticism (and it is only a personal one) is that I would prefer the navigation to remain static, so you can flip pages without having to scroll back up. _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

Re: My new portfolio imaging website
Ryan, Your mum's site is really great. The art nouveau feel fits the subject perfectly, and your choice of colours throughout is restrained and tasteful. The menu section packs eight buttons in without looking crowded - altogether, it's really professional and elegant. I don't agree with ToO's comment about the navigation 'remaining static' - this would mean using frames, and they can cause too many problems. The kind of visitors you're going to get to this site are unlikely to be technocrats: they'll probably be using old computers and ancient browsers, and your straightforward approach is guaranteed to work for all your visitors. The only thing I would do, though, is make sure the title/menu is in the same place on each page - it tends to jump around a little. Really great work, all round. Hope your mum likes it! |

Again, you're right Steve. I tend to forget that people are still running ancient PCs (I should know better, with all the relics we have in the council). As I said, that was my only quibble. The site design itself is fantastic. _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

Re: My new portfolio imaging website
Thanks for the feedback on the website. I did first create the navbar static for my portfolio website but when I tried optimizing my website for google, frames are a big no no. So all the pages had to be adjusted to solid pages so the search engine could crawl my website. Thanks for noticing the style of the website Steve, my Mum lovesthe styling and colour scheme. Ionlyuploaded the website a couple of days ago and she`s already had a breeder from Australia and Norway interested in puppies ![]() Thanks for the feedback Ryan |
